Dallas, Texas – Florida State University defeated the University of Arizona 3 – 2 to win the 2023 Jackson T. Stephens Cup men’s team match play championship. The women’s team match play championship featured the University of Texas versus Wake Forest University with the Demon Deacons winning 3 – 2.
Both Wake Forest and Florida State finished runner up in the 2022 Jackson T. Stephens Cup. This is the first time both runners up from the previous year have gone on to win the event the following year.
Wake Forest’s Macy Pete clinched the winning point for the defending national champions, winning her match 4&2 after trailing 1 DN through the first four holes.
Senior Brett Roberts secured the final point for the Seminoles on the 18th hole, winning his match 1 UP.

Arizona’s Tiger Christensen fired a bogey free, final-round 8-under-par 64, that included six birdies and one eagle to capture the men’s individual stroke-play title of the 2023 Jackson T. Stephens Cup.
Christensen finished with a tournament total of 19-under-par 197 after carding scores of 66—67—64.
Lauren Kim of the University of Texas defeated Adela Cernousak on the fourth playoff to win the women’s individual stroke play championship. Both players finished with a tournament total of 11- under-par 205, with Kim making par on the fourth playoff hole to take home the title.
Kim’s birdie on the 54th hole forced a playoff with Cernousak. Kim’s up and down on the fourth playoff hole (No. 18) sealed the victory.
